Irrigation with PREVENTIA has a preventive effect to reduce the probability of SSIs.
PREVENTIA® Surgical Irrigation is a preserved wound irrigation
solution for intraoperative cleansing and irrigation, replacing or
supporting the use of standard saline solutions and Ringer's solutions
or irrigation with antibiotics. It is a non-invasive product with an
antimicrobial effect, which comes in contact with damaged skin and
mechanically cleanses, offering a protective and preventive effect
against SSI.
Transparent, colourless and practically odourless liquid, composed of water, poloxamer (surfactant) and polyhexanide 0.1 (PHMB - antimicrobial agent). It has a pH of 5.0 – 6.5 at 20°C. The surfactants in its composition provide convenient cleansing that allows the antimicrobial agents to act more effectively. Therefore, thanks to its exclusive composition and excellent antimicrobial and cleansing effect, PREVENTIA® Surgical Irrigation takes surgical irrigation to the next level, capable of combatting biofilm reformation and effectively killing bacteria (independent from antibiotic resistance), thus preventing SSI.
