Most pathogens are transferred directly or indirectly via the hands of healthcare workers. Hand hygiene consists of 4 components of which one is hand disinfection. High compliance in hand disinfection is a very important step to protect patients from acquiring health-care associated infections. Intact skin is an important prerequisite for a successful and efficient hand disinfection.
