HARTMANN MedProtect Film Swab is a skin protection swab designed to protect at-risk or damaged skin from moisture, friction and irritants. The polymeric solution forms a transparent film that creates a waterproof skin barrier on skin that can no longer absorb moisture effectively, supporting fragile skin protection.

The skin protection swab provides long-lasting protection for up to 72 hours, helping to reduce the need for frequent reapplication while supporting patient comfort. The fast-drying formulation dries in approximately 30 seconds, allowing quick and controlled application. It does not affect the adhesion of medical tapes or dressings or compromise the absorbency of incontinence products.²

MedProtect Film Swab is suitable for use on at-risk or damaged skin and can be applied across multiple care situations including incontinence, ostomy and wound-related skin damage. The swab is designed for precise application on smaller areas, especially for wound edge protection and to avoid direct contact around wounds. Application

MedProtect Film Swab is intended for use on at-risk or damaged skin to help protect it from moisture and external irritants.

How to use

Ensure the skin is clean and dry before application
Remove the foam applicator from the sachet and apply a uniform coating of film over the affected area
If an area is missed, re-apply after the first application has dried (approx. 30 seconds)
If applied to areas with skin folds or skin-to-skin contact, separate the skin until the film has dried thoroughly
Allow to dry completely (approx. 30 seconds) before covering with a dressing or adhesive product
Re-apply each time dressings and/or adhesive products are changed

Using a consistent application method supports effective skin protection and helps maintain efficient care routines.
