Application
How to apply:
Clean and dry the wound area per protocol prior to application.
Select the appropriate dressing size and shape according to the wound.
Remove the larger piece of the protective paper backing.
Place on the wound holding the dressing by the portion still covered by the protective paper backing.
When dressing is firmly in place, remove the remaining piece of protective paper and press all edges of the dressing firmly to adhere the dressing.
For the sacral version, remove the protective paper backing and press into gluteal fold. The tip of the dressing can point upwards or downwards depending on the position and depth of the ulcer.
The dressing should overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least a half-inch (1-2cm) beyond the wound edge.
How to remove:
Dressing should be changed when there is visible discoloration of the dressing.
Lift the dressing at the edges and remove the whole dressing carefully.
A layer of hydrocolloid gel may remain on the wound that will not impair healing and can be rinsed off if desired.
The frequency of replacing the dressing depends on the patient’s condition and exudate level. Wear time is no more than 7 days.
