Real-life evidence for a superabsorbent wound dressing for effective exudate management
Assess the use of a superabsorbent wound dressing used for exudate management in medium to high exuding wounds.
|Design:||Open, non-comparative, multi-centre investigation|
|Types of Wounds:||A variety of different types of wounds – mainly chronic – with medium to high exudate production levels. [e.g. venous leg ulcers (29%), pressure ulcers (22%), diabetic foot ulcers (8%)]|
Zetuvit® Plus - Multi-centre Investigation
A 50 patient observational clinical study of a superabsorbent dressing: effective exudate management with Zetuvit® Plus evaluated by clinicians and patients.
Highly effective exudate management:
In 100% of the cases Zetuvit® Plus has achieved the primary objective, offering effective exudate management. Prevention of leakage and strikethrough were rated “excellent” or “good” in 96% and 98%, respectively.
Supports improved wound healing:
A significant decrease of patients showing maceration (65%) was reported. More than half of all patients experienced improved periwound skin and overall there was a trend towards reduction in wound size.
Cost-effective and time saving*:
47% cost savings compared to previous exudate management treatments. Zetuvit® Plus reduced the frequency of dressing change from 6 to 2.7 times per week.
*sub-population analysis – 10 patients ad hoc
Improved quality of life:
Patients reported they were able to return to previous activities of daily living due to the very good exudate handling capabilities and comfort of Zetuvit® Plus. 96% rated patient satisfaction and comfort “excellent” or “good”.
