AT WAR WITH A VIRUS

The Fighters on the Frontline

3/20/2020

As the world unites to stop the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and people create distance amongst each other to flatten the curve, doctors, nurses, hygienists and all hospital staff go on the battleground of this disease to save human lives.

A True Form of Heroism

Hospital staff are the closest to this new global threat and directly facing the daily realities of COVID-19, a pandemic no one fully understands yet. They are the modern-day heroes, as they work around the clock to treat and protect the sick, calm the patients, and ensure optimal functionality at hospitals. Like war heroes, doctors and nurses are risking their own lives for patients and ultimately for their communities in the fight against this disease.

At HARTMANN, we salute hospital staff across all continents for their bravery every day – and particularly during this challenging time. For more than 200 years, we have been working closely with nurses, hygienists, and doctors to support them with innovations and solutions for infection prevention at hospitals. And we have seen first-hand their work on the ground to prevent infection on a daily basis. They are and have always been the heroes amongst us.

One Nurse’s Motivation

I have been a nurse for five years and to me, COVID-19 reinforces the reason I chose this profession. It is not only about giving but also receiving. We are surrounded daily by challenges and great responsibility, but at the end of the day I walk out of the hospital with a good feeling – the feeling of having done something good for the people and for your own soul.
